Planning

In this curriculum “Detectives: Investigating the Kingdom of God” you will find different tools to make your class a success…Planning

1. Main Lesson

The main lessons and ideas are for the teacher to give focus to the class.

2. Game

Studies say that 90% of the students in classes around the world are bored. Use the games to keep your students active and NOT bored. With the game, you can have your students moving around, as well as help them focus on the main point.

3. Visual Aid

This is a fun way to introduce the lesson or spice up the class with an object that you bring from your home each week.

4. Questions

These questions are provided for the older students, to help confirm that they are understanding the meanings of the parables.

5. Answers

On the page to the right for each lesson are the answers to the activities in the student books.

Student’s Book

The student books are a tool for the teacher to keep the students attention and make class more fun. The books include the following activities:

  • Bible Passage – We have included the Bible passage in the books so that you can easily read the Bible together in class.
  • Memory Verse
  • Puzzle Activity
  • Secret Message (For the older students) - Follow the instructions for decoding the secret message for each week, and make sure each student has a decoder key.
  • Read the book of Matthew (difficult and advanced-level students only) - Extra program to train your students to read the Bible. By reading 2-3 chapters of the book of Matthew each week, your students will finish the whole book by the end of this 13-week program (advanced-level students read the entire book of Matthew; difficult-level students read most of the book of Matthew). It depends on you, as the teacher, to focus on the reading program for part of the lesson each week to inspire your students to read a book of the Bible!

Secret MessageDecoders

For students using difficult and advanced books.

Each week the students have a secret message that deals with the day's lesson. See more information on the Decoder page.

Cut and Paste

Children love stickers! For the younger students, we have provided an activity each week of cutting out a sticker and gluing it onto their lesson page. Have the children put the stickers inside the area marked with the dotted line and then color the picture. Download: stickers (pdf, 1.8 MB)
